Chicago Drive-In Movie Theatre: ChiTown Movies
Updated October 20, 2020
Drive-in movie theatres have always been a great way to create some unique summer memories. Now, more than ever, the demand for “drive-in” activities is at an alltime high and because of that, we’re seeing an increase in pop-up theatres all around the Chicago area!
So, we decided to check out a drive-in movie theatre in Chicago for ourselves by heading over to ChiTown Movies in Pilsen. It was, without a doubt, one of the coolest summer memories we’ve made so far. Everything from the movie, the atmosphere, the beautiful sunset, and the food made it a night that we will always remember.
As soon as you pull into the drive-in theatre, you’re directed to the row that you picked when purchasing your ticket (there are a total of nine rows), and then the magic can begin. When we got there, we were able to easily pick the spot we wanted and set up because we got there early, so definitely keep that in mind if you’re planning to catch a film. Another great fact is that they let you bring your own snacks and drinks so if you’re going on a budget, you can easily bring your own things! We had some extra time so we glanced over the menu and they had a great selection. This is no ordinary drive-in movie theatre food, they have something for everyone at this drive-in. The best part is that they deliver it straight to your car. Some items are pretty affordable especially for families. We ultimately decided to order carne asada tacos and “mexican nachos.” They were both really good, but the tacos were truly amazing. So, we would definitely recommend getting the taco combo.
On the particular night that we went, we saw their last showing of Jurassic Park. But, they have so many great movies coming up so even if you didn’t catch that, you’re bound to see something else that interests you. We will put all of the info, including future showings, below so you can check it out.
Overall, our night at ChiTown Movies was a 10/10. The food from ChiTown Grille was fantastic, their staff working the drive-in was friendly and taking all precautions, and the actual movie played out very well with very minor sound issues. If you’re looking for a fun way to make some memories, check them out!
