Chicago's Best Socially Distanced Activities
Updated October 15, 2020
Safety is clearly a priority to all of us as we navigate through this uncertain time. However, that does not mean that we can’t find ways to enjoy ourselves, while following social distance guidelines!
If you’re looking for some fun within city limits, here are some recommendations:
Being deprived of live music has been very tough throughout this quarantine. However, Lakeshore Drive-In found a way to bring that magic back to us by doing drive-in concerts. We checked out their first show featuring Ric Wilson and Mick Jenkins and it was such a fun night. They had a fantastic DJ, we were given clear protocol and rules prior to entering (that they strictly enforced), and we had a fantastic night, enjoying live music once again!

Since our original article highlighting ChiTown Movies, we have been several more times. We’ve had a great experience every single time and that is what keeps us coming back. They’re reasonably priced, they have a great staff, you’re socially distanced, and not to mention, the amazing carne asada tacos!

Check out our article on places to play Bocce in Chicago. We think playing Bocce is the perfect way to get a little active while still being able to maintain a safe distance from those around you. There are so many different locations that offer Bocce ball courts in our article, pick the perfect one for you.
How much more can you social distance then to literally get off of land and get in the river on a kayak. Over at Wateriders, you’re able to take several different tours and paddle groups (that are still distanced), but you’re also able to rent a kayak for two hours and follow your own path.

If you’re willing to travel a little outside of Chicago, maybe even take a day trip somewhere, here is our list of some fun places to go:
Located just outside of Hebron, IL is Von Bergen’s Country Market. Here you are able to visit sunflower mazes (which has probably been all over your IG feeds by now), get some yummy oversized cinnamon rolls, and even bring home some treats (we suggest the apple pie that you get to bake at home). Admission is $5 (children under 3 come in free).

Behind the old Marshall Field’s building in Market Square, lies “the little market” better known as Amidei Mercatino. It is here that you could get fresh produce, yummy drinks, and some fresh air. Many people have said that this market reminds them of several European cities that they’ve traveled to, so head out to this market, support local, and get a little taste of travel.
