The holidays are meant to be spent with your friends and family and while there are so many exciting festivities going on during the season, don’t forget about what you can do at home to create some more holiday memories.
Unleashing that inner baker and making cupcakes is definitely something we recommend doing over the cold winter months. It’s a fun and inexpensive way to spice up any normal day. You don’t have to be a master chef like Gordon Ramsey or as crafty as Martha Stewart, all you need is a little patience and creativity.
First and foremost, we recommend throwing on your favorite Holiday movie during the process so that you’re able to still remain cheerful even during the downtime. Next, comes the actual baking. We recommend just grabbing a box of cake mix and following the directions on there (make sure you have eggs and oil at home)! It’s super easy, tastes good, and just about anyone can make it with absolutely no problems.
Our favorite part of baking cupcakes had to be the decorating process! We got some red and green sprinkles and made the Christmas magic come alive. After making sure the cupcakes are completely cooled down so that the frosting wouldn’t melt (we were a little impatient and popped them in the freezer for just a few minutes), we began by frosting the cupcakes. We recommend getting a generous amount on the cupcake and then spreading it or using a piping bag if you want to take it up a level. Don’t worry too much about the look of your frosting because the sprinkles will definitely save the day. The MOST fun part is playing with sprinkles. You can try to make different patterns and just have so much fun. At the end of the day, it’s all going to get eaten anyways so just try something random!
