Make Room for Fun

Room escapes are a fun group activity for friends or coworkers. Escape challenges are similar to a trivia competition, except your opponent is primarily time (and in some cases, inhibitors like zombies). Chicago is a popular city for room escape adventures - so popular that the windy city is home to a room escape adventure conference dedicated to the art of room escapes. Mobile Room Escapes will bring the escape room (aka 32 foot trailer) to you. It's like a food truck except you're stuck inside...and there's no food. Located in the Fine Arts Building on Michigan Avenue, Room Escape Adventures is a popular adventure for tourists and locals downtown. There are two zombie-themed escape rooms, the original "Trapped in a room with a zombie," and the second 'Still Hungry' adventure. Smaller groups of up to five have an hour to solve puzzles at Fox in a Box to escape from a bank, bunker, prison or science lab. Lower level of Dearborn Station in Printer's Row. PanIQ Room is a West Loop escape room, as well as Room X Scape, home to a treasure hunt adventure.

Escape artistry uses story-driven puzzles. Teams have 60 minutes to decipher the clues, find the key, and escape. Rail car theme Flat Iron Arts Building in Wicker Park. Finally, Escape Chambers in North Chicago challenges gamers and brainiacs to two challenges: A Jail Break and The Job.

Greater Chicagoland Room Escapes

There are additional Chicagoland options beyond the city. Lock Chicago is an Evanston-based escape room. The Western suburbs are really into escape rooms. So much so that there is a full on escape room tournament challenge, where escapers must get beyond 4 different escape rooms: The Hideaway Room by Hidden Key Escapes, the Mad Scientist Room by Chicago Vault Escapes, the Timekeeper's Trap by Escape Factor Chicago, and The Lab by Challenge Accepted Escapes.

Additional escapes in the Chicago suburbs include DOA in Addison, Great Room Escape in Morton Grove, and Vault Escape in Riverside.
