St. Patrick's Day in Chicago
Updated March 23, 2018
Being in Chicago for St. Patrick's day is already a winning hand. However, navigating the sea of green can be daunting with parade, bar, and pub crawl options. Check out these spots where you can celebrate Irish cheer with more than just green beer!
Several Irish bars have traditional live music such as The Irish Oak or McNamara's. Mrs. Murphy & Sons Irish Bistro will have a particularly festive atmosphere and is a destination for ongoing Firkin Thursdays, featuring traditional Irish music performances.
Chief O’Neill’s Pub & Restaurant is a bar and restaurant with an extensive Irish whiskey list. The establishment is inspired by Chief Francis O'Neill, and as a result has frequent live music. If the luck of the Irish brings nice weather, the outdoor patio would be our dog-friendly St. Pat's destination.
O'Leary's Public House is a River North Irish bar that will be hosting watch parties for the Cincinnati Bearcats during NCAA March madness this year. Combine St. Pat's Madness with NCAA March Madness!
Wilde Bar & Restaurant is a full bar and restaurant with craft beer on tap, beer flights, cider, wine, cocktails, and plenty of non-alcoholic options like Italian sodas. This is our kid-friendly pick as kids eat free M-F 4:30-6:30pm daily. This Irish bar also has a library where you can borrow a book to read by the fire.
Mullen's on Clark is a Wrigleyville option with 3 dart boards and foosball/table soccer for the sportsmen, and is also part of the annual Shamrock crawl.
Glascott's groggery is an Irish haunt with 2 brewskee ball lanes, a pool table, and a sports bar to cheer on their official NCAA team the Dayton Flyers.
Galway Bay is another gaming option with free popcorn, video games including Nintendo 64, Sega, Super Smash Bros., Super Mario Brothers 3, pool, board games, and darts.
